Improvements in surgical treatment of patients
At Clinical Graphics we believe that hospitals currently do not get the most out of their scanning equipment. Clinically relevant information, much needed for good healthcare, is concealed in the image data and is never used for patient treatment. Through innovative visualisation techniques we aim to extract this information and present it in a clear and decision-supporting fashion to the surgeon.
Our primary software package Articulis is capable of simulating the range of motion of human joints such as shoulders and hips. The software allows surgeons to plan a surgical procedure, for example a joint replacement, and gives immediate feedback on the effect it will have on the functional range of motion of the joint. In this way, clinicians gain more insight in the effects of their surgery, leading to improved treatment of patients.
