Development of an innovative medical system for diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions.
MAXAM Medical is developing an innovative medical system for the diagnosis and treatment of pelvic floor dysfunctions (for example urinary incontinence). These problems can be solved by training the muscles of the pelvic floor. A pelvic floor therapist assists in this training process with the use of an invasive probe which measures muscular activity. Current probes do not measure with sufficient accuracy and lack scientific evidence for a normal pelvic floor function. A collaboration between the Leiden University Medical Center and MAXAM Medical will result in the first standardized and calibrated system for diagnosis and treatment, making it more accurate and more effective than current systems.
