Fusion Engineering

Our mission is to make drone flight so safe and reliable, that it can be seamlessly integrated into our daily lives. While drone hardware has come a long way over the past decades, software development has been lacking behind. Therefore, we set out on an ambitious project: Developing drone control systems from scratch, while focussing from the start on safety and reliability. On top of this new software platform, we built innovative flight control algorithms to ensure more accurate positioning, disturbance rejection, and fault-tolerance.

To make sure our flight controller is on the cutting edge of what is possible, we work closely together with Delft University of Technology on the latest research in drone control engineering. The control technologies that we have implemented are based on a High-rate UKF, Adaptive INDI, and Fault-tolerant control.

We are looking for innovative drone manufacturers that want to be leaders in developing the drone applications of the future and ambitious people to help us make it happen.

DELMIC markets two products conceived of in academia. The theme of both products ist eh integration of light and electron microscopy in one device. The SECOM platform integrates a fluorescence microscope with an electron microscope. This combines the functional information of the fluorescence microscope with the unlimited structural resolution of the electron microscope. This allows for faster, easier and better biological research. The SPARC detector detects the light that is generated by the electrons of the electron microscope when they hit the sample. This emitted light can be used to study material composition, or study the behaviour of nanostructures, such as for nanophotonics.

You can create your own deLight experience and save the results of your work in a deLight file which others can also play – at a different location – using the deLight player. The broad application possibilities for Augmented Reality 3D visualization are unprecedented. More and more users are discovering the benefits of working with our mARk software. From real estate agents to project developers, and from interior designers to medical specialists. To maximize the 3D experience, it is possible to combine the use of the mARk software with Augmented Reality glasses or using our interactive table.

Delft Dynamics B.V. specializes in building small unmanned helicopters for stable, easy to control, aerial sensor-platforms. This is accomplished by intelligently combining computer and sensor technology. Such helicopters can obtain an aerial overview using photos, video cameras and other sensors. Due to their quick deployment capability, robot helicopters can serve police, fire brigades and other emergency services very well. Compared to manned helicopters, robot helicopters have the advantage that they can be deployed from areas very close to the scene of interest. Furthermore, since they are unmanned, they can also be used in potentially dangerous situations.

At Delft Circuits we are specialized in cryogenic circuit technologies for scientific instrumentation, quantum computing, astronomy and more. We design and build custom engineered (superconducting) circuits and cryogenic instrumentation. Soon we will have ultra-low thermal conductance and massively scalable cryogenic cabling. We do so by making use of novel lithographic techniques on flexible substrates. Also we provide extremely compact cryogenic circuit packaging optimized for your needs. From multi-disciplinary backgrounds in experimental, theoretical and computational physics, combined with mechanical engineering and industrial design, our team is ready to tackle your most challenging problems!

CleVR is specialized in developing custom-designed interactive virtual reality (VR) simulation systems for therapy or training purposes, where the participant is fully immerged in a virtual environment, having a realistic 3D experience. The accompanying hardware framework is assembled on-site, where it is directly ready to use. CleVR offers extensive service & support packages for our customers.
The first product in our portfolio is the Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy system for the treatment of many different phobias, starting with fear of flying and fear of heights. The next focus is the treatment of social phobia, psychosis, autism and aggression regulation. The results of the clinical validation of our psychosis therapy using interactive VR are very promising, so this will be the world’s first scientific validated VR therapy for the treatment of psychosis. Our products incorporate a new treatment that is scientifically proven to be more efficient than conventional methods. Patients are virtually exposed to gradually more anxiety arousing situations for prolonged periods of time per session until anxiety dissipates and habituation occurs.
Future developments will incorporate more sensory devices for more interactive solutions. VR-gloves or sensors to detect movements and gestures will enable smart solutions and more possibilities within VR.
