Imagine: you are cycling home calmly and then all of a sudden: heavy breaking and a collision. Glass, airbags, blood. Someone needs help quickly. Same goes for a fire or robbery. This, and another 1.000.000 emergency calls that the people of our GMK (Joint Emergency Control Centre) are faced with every year. The GMK The Hague is a co-operation between the emergency control rooms of the police, the fire and ambulance services for the area’s Haaglanden and Hollands-Midden. They respond to emergency requests from citizens 24 hours per day, 7 hours per week.
GMK has joined forces with YES!Delft to look for technical innovations and solutions to help citizens faster and more efficiently than ever before. Do you have a technical solution that could help accelerate the GMK in one of the areas below? Register for the Innovation Challenge!
How can the GMK process calls more easily and efficiently with the help of technology?
How can the GMK use technology to 'screen' calls efficiently?
How can they efficiently and automatically provide responders with the most relevant information?
In case of an evacuation or emergency in the GMK room itself, how do they do so without data loss?
