In modern surgery, it is fundamentally important that surgeons get a thorough insight into the patient’s anatomy using medical images. However, the need to remain sterile in operating rooms (ORs) means that surgeons are reliant on someone else to perform simple actions such as zooming in on an image. “My procedures would be greatly enhanced by an intuitive way of controlling imaging tools from inside the sterile zone,” says Maarten van der Elst, trauma surgeon at the Reinier de Graaf hospital in Delft. Our personalized OR dashboard, AirControl OR, can be controlled by anyone from anywhere in the OR through sterile and intuitive hand gestures. We are working in close collaboration with clinicians and hospitals to make this solution an essential improvement for any surgery and are open to new collaborations.

A big problem in the warehousing industry is to maintain an accurate inventory count.
Therefore it is common practice to perform routine manual inventory counts, which are slow, expensive and disrupting to daily operations. At Sophos Robotics we use small autonomous drones for inventory tracking, which reduces lost inventory as well as warehouse downtime. We are currently preparing our first pilot project and are looking for more partners in the warehousing industry.
Boost the cooling performance of your high-tech equipment with our nano-coolants! Synano develops next-generation cooling fluids that contain nanoparticles, which remove heat faster than current coolants. Nano-coolants can make your equipment smaller, faster, efficient and reduce your energy consumption.
Phoenix Bone Tech (PBT)
PHOENIX BONE TECH (PBT) is the first Dutch MedTech startup manufacturing dissolvable bone implants for orthopedic surgery. The use of magnesium composite implants eliminates the need to remove the implant because the material itself becomes bone. No second surgery, no implant failure and no risk of infection.
Heart rhythm diseases are often discovered late; the symptoms are vague and hard to recognize. This causes roughly a third of all deaths around the world, making cardiovascular disease the number one killer globally. Praxa Sense is developing Afi, a small sensor that a patient sticks on his arm and that helps general practitioners in early diagnosis of heart rhythm disease. With Afi, Praxa Sense introduces a long-term monitoring device that supports the first line care and smoothes out the patient journey. To create the best product for and by general practitioners, we are looking for general practitioners that want to co-design and think along the design process.
