  • YES!Delft The HagueYES!Delft’s new Digital Hub opened early 2019 in The Hague – focused on establishing a vibrant ecosystem for startups creating solutions based on technologies such as AI & Blockchain. Our ecosystem clearly goes well beyond the startups involved, also building strong links to industry, government, knowledge institutions and other initiatives.To further build up the ecosystem, there is an opportunity for an outgoing, service-minded community focal point to join our team – a colleague who simply “gets things done” whilst ensuring a positive and sharing attitude within our expanding communityThe Community Manager is responsible for both community and office management:
    • Being the trusted central point of contact for the community/ecosystem, representing YES!Delft as needed
    • Organizing community-building activities, such as meetups, events, social activities etc
    • Ensuring good communications both on & offline, and that the new community members can easily and quickly find their way around
    • Managing the office environment, ensuring that core functions like access control, ICT, interaction with reception, etc, are all effectively and responsively managed

    The role is part of both a local and a wider team, so to be carried out in close cooperation with YES!Delft team members in both our locations in The Hague and Delft.

    Profile:

    Required:

    • minimum HBO (Bachelor) degree
    • minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
    • Excellent communication skills both in Dutch and in English
    • Strong presentation skills, particularly re leading events
    • Self-starting attitude
    • 4 days/week minimum

Your mission & the ideal outcome

Are you a highly energetic, starting event organizer that’s looking to grow and make a massive impact in the startup scene? We are looking for someone proactive and creative who’s motivated to coordinate some of the biggest events in the YES!Delft startup community.

As the event coordinator, you will collaborate closely with our Events Manager to make sure that all events are organized smoothly. You make sure that visitors of YES!Delft events get a unique experience every time they enter the building!

Your activities will include (but are definitely not limited to-) brainstorming and executing new event concepts from A to Z, actively involve the YES!Delft startup community in events, keep track of budgeting, planning, administration and last but not least: making sure that our entire community knows about the fantastic events that are coming up.

About our events

Next to our services (startup programs, funding/recruitment advice, etc) for entrepreneurs, we actively organize big and small scale events to facilitate the connection between our startup ecosystem and our startup founders to accelerate innovation. To get a glimpse of some of our events, go to our YouTube channel and check out some after movies. Examples are: Meet the Startups, the Grand opening of YES!Delft’s second location in The Hague and the Shell Gamechanger Hackweek.

Your profile:
  • Available to work full-time on a freelance basis, with the possibility of receiving a year contract;  
  • 0-2 years of work experience, at minimum a bachelor’s degree (any major), and looking to grow fast!
  • Experience in events is a plus, but most importantly you’re willing to go the extra mile and get the job done;
  • High in energy;
  • Strong communicative and organizational skills;
  • Strong sense of ownership and determinate;
  • Thrives under time pressure;
  • Fluent in both spoken and written Dutch and English/
Job requirements:
  • You have a completed WO education or have obtained this level through work experience, preferably in communications, marketing or similar. 
  • In addition, you have two to three years of relevant work experience
  • Proficient in both spoken and written Dutch and English

Your mission is to communicate our services, our projects and our results to the world, very specifically to everyone who is interested in what we are doing and who would like to join our community. This communication role will be linking all our different departments. From our funding & talent offerings to our service to corporate partners. From communicating to entrepreneurial students to making CEOs enthusiastic for a new innovation process in their corporate, it’s all part of this job.
We’re satisfied when our offline and online communities grow. When people approach us and know what we are doing, and more importantly why we are doing it. You are working within the marketing team and we expect a certain amount of independence and experience with project management.

Competences:
  • Knowledge of and skilled in coordinating several social media channels 
  • Able to work on a strategy for our (social) media channels and able to understand marketing strategies
  • Skilled in email marketing
  • Able to edit and implement websites 
  • Able to write press releases and communicate them
  • Skilled at SEO and Google & Facebook ads
  • Able to work with Mailchimp, WordPress, Hootsuite and MS Office
  • Skilled in Adobe suite is a big plus! 
  • Work structured, organized and well-planned
  • A love for technology & startups and the possible impact of those on society
Job requirements:
  • You have a completed WO education or have obtained this level through work experience, preferably in communications, marketing or similar.
